Michele Voorhees

Michele came to Texas in 1980 to work on a research project on laminitis at Texas A&M University. Her original degree was in Chemistry before she attended Centenary College, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Equine Studies with education emphasizing teaching, training, and management. After a year, she decided to teach and train full-time. Michele is a United States Dressage Federation certified Dressage instructor/trainer with 40+ years of professional equine experience with different age groups and experience levels. She has had students succeed in competition levels from training to F.E.I., and from schooling shows through Regional Finals to the North American Young Rider Championships. Michele has served as Chef d’Equipe for the USDF Region 9 Young Rider Dressage Team at those championships and as the Region 9 Junior/Young Rider Coordinator for several years. She was honored as the recipient of the USDF Region 9 Horseperson of the Year Award in 2004. Having established Topsider Farm in 1991, she is thrilled that McKenzie Mull has taken it on. She will still be teaching and training at Topsider Farm.
